Hey therapist, healer, coach, consultant, or service provider!
Let's decolonize your business!
Individual Consultation Through A Liberation-centering & Decolonial Lens
Let's figure out how to decolonize your business, your services, and yourself.
Think about the aspects of your service-based business that you would like to change to make it more inclusive and truly affirming for clients who hold systemically marginalized identities.
What are the barriers that prevent you from making your business more accessible?
What are the dreams that you've had for an anti-oppressive business that you have not been able to fulfill?

Now take a moment to pause and imagine:
How would your business be different if you had the right support, guidance, and accountability to continue (or start) centering liberation, decolonial values, and community so that you can support your clients, your community, and yourself?
Who are the people that you would like to support and help heal?
What else do you want to create as a service-based business owner within your community?
What do you want to do different in your field inspired by radical imagination?

If you need more support to guide you through the next steps of decolonizing your business, I can help you and together we can create a plan that you can put into action right away.
The plans we create will always be: anti-oppressive, community-centered, cyclical, tailored to your identities and type of business, and have into account the resources (time, energy, bandwidth, and money) you have at any given time.

Can a coworker/colleague come with me to the meeting?
Yes, if you both sign up for 2:1 consultation session.

I'm a therapist, is this consultation like clinical supervision?
No, clinical supervision would require for us to be serving clients in the same state, board approval, and we would be restricted in the topics we can discuss.

What is the structure of the sessions?
-
We spend the first couple minutes figuring out your intention for the meeting.
-
We dive right into the challenge you have or issue you need clarification on.
-
We come up with a plan until our next meeting, or a plan that can support you with the challenge or issue you presented during the session.
-
We end by figuring out how you'll be held accountable until our next meeting or until you tackle the issue or challenge you presented in our meeting.
-
You'll receive a recording of the meeting that is yours to keep.

What if I don't know where to start?
Let me propose a both-and scenario for you. I hear you when you say that you don't know where to start, yet, here you are, reading my offering, ready to figure out how to decolonize your business... that sounds to me like you have already started!
But, if you still feel like you have no idea where to start decolonizing your service-based business, my suggestion is:
-
During our first meeting I conduct an audit of your website, your paperwork, and your service/offering to your clients. This is a decolonized assessment of the state of your business.
-
We meet again to give you feedback, point out your strengths and your areas for growth.
-
We develop a plan that you can use to decolonize each and every aspect of your business that you want to make more accessible, affirming, and welcoming to clients who have marginalized identities.
How will I know if this is the right time to do this work?
There is never a wrong time to decolonize your practice. Whether you have one hour or ten hours a week, we can collaboratively develop a decolonial plan that works for you.
It is always the right time to shed yet another layer of the colonialism and oppression we all grew up in and have been exposed to 24/7.

How will I know if this will work for me?
The consultation sessions will work for you if you are invested in the liberation of all individuals through better business practices.
The consultation sessions won't work for you if you believe in neutrality and are not sure that anti-oppression is something that small business owners should care about.
These sessions are most transformative when you:
- know that liberation takes time & decolonization is a life-long journey,
- are ready to be in your learning zone and grow,
- want to further develop your social justice values, and
- want to be in true alignment with your values.
